  • Covers full participation in Destination: Family Medicine

  • Includes mentorship and gala recognition

As part of the HT Foundation’s commitment to Care, Serve, Give with priority in Healthcare and Education, the HT Scholarship supports academically gifted and community-minded high school students (Grades 9–12) who demonstrate a passion for medicine and healthcare.

Number of Scholarships: 5

Obective

Our objective is to encourage meaningful engagement in medicine and increase access to mentorship and learning opportunities—particularly for students from underrepresented communities. Our program and mentor doctors will give students the success strategies and support they need to become a Future MD!

Benefits

  • Enrollment in Destination Family Medicine (December 8, 2025), a one-day enrichment course hosted by the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Medicine
  • Mentorship with a medical doctor
  • Two free tickets (for the student and mentor pair) and recognition at the HT Foundation’s “Stronger Together” Charity Gala in 2026

This year, we received 152 applications, the vast majority of which were of exceptional quality and filled with sincerity, effort, and heart. After a thorough review process by our committee, five scholarship recipients and fifteen honourable mentions were selected for recognition.

Based on the overwhelming positive response from the applicants, we will hold the HT Scholarship Award Ceremony on November 1, 2025 in celebration of applicants’ outstanding applications and contributions to the future of healthcare.

The ceremony will be a meaningful opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the applications, connect with mentors, and meet others who share your passion for advancing healthcare.
