It was an afternoon filled with wisdom, inspiration, and heartfelt reflection on what it truly means to be a leader and a healer.
For those who were unable to attend, we want to share some highlights and celebrate the exceptional young people who made this year’s program so meaningful. The event brought together mentors, physicians, and community leaders who offered powerful insights into the inner workings of healthcare and the values that shape compassionate leadership.
This year’s ceremony was made possible through our cherished partnerships with the Ottawa Hospital Foundation and the University of Ottawa, both of whom continue to play a vital role in nurturing the next generation of healthcare professionals. Their collaboration has allowed the HT Foundation to expand its impact and deepen its support for aspiring students.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our Founder, Dr. Helen Tang, whose vision and dedication continue to guide and inspire the mission of the HT Foundation. Special thanks as well to our mentors, review committee members, and our wonderful volunteers, whose time, care, and commitment made this year’s ceremony truly special.
Finally, we would like to recognize the parents and families, whose love, support, and sacrifice are the foundation on which this future generation of healers is being raised. Your encouragement makes all the difference.
We were deeply moved by the quality, effort, and heart that went into every application. It was a remarkably close selection process, and one that reminded us just how much talent, empathy, and drive exists among this generation of future healthcare professionals. Every applicant demonstrated qualities worthy of recognition, and we truly encourage each of you to continue pursuing your passions and to consider applying again next year.
We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to Lisa Anna Palmer, our keynote speaker, who shared an inspiring reflection on finding our “why” and reminding us that true leadership is rooted in humility, authenticity, and service to others.
We extend our warmest congratulations to all the recipients and our heartfelt thanks to every applicant who shared their story, their vision, and their commitment to care.
Your passion gives us hope for the future of healthcare, and your compassion reminds us why this work matters. Whether or not your name was called this year, know that your efforts have already made a lasting impression.
With gratitude and encouragement,
Mathieu Louis-Seize
